I've been playing piano for about 7 years (I'm still taking private lessons), and I (as well as my teacher), think I play very well. Do you think it's okay if I start teaching lessons to a few kids? I only have time for 9 kids on alternate Saturdays for 45 minute lessons. I wouldn't charge them anything and I would provide the books. I remember growing up in a low-income family, my parents could not afford to get me lessons until I moved with my aunt who could afford it. Now I'm taking lessons in college. I really love piano, and I would like to give these girls the chance to take lessons because they really want to, and I know what's it like to want to play piano, but not be able to afford it. Do you think it's okay if teach them? Thanx

Most definitely! Especially since you are doing it for free, everyone will see that you really want to do this... and that will make your students want to learn even more. Have fun!

Not only is it Okay, it's admirable. I've played piano since I was 8 because my Grandpa's 2nd wife taught me and I love it.

To share your gift and talent, especially for free is the making of saints.
