My school newspaper reviews albums but they are usually about 2 months after the album comes out.

That's not good journalism.

How can I have music companies send us albums to review?

Contact the PR and marketing departments of every record label you can find. Let them know how many copies of each issue you print and how many of those get picked up. Also remind them that your readership is their target audience.

And when you give one of their releases a great review, be sure to mail a copy of that article to their PR department.

Some of the contact information might be available online. There is one company that publishes a guide with all the info but I've forgotten the title.
