I have myself a network with 2 pcs joined together with a router and a modem. The first PC's connection is always stable, but the other disconnects every now and then, for 15 minutes. Why is this?

This has only been happening for the last few days. Before that, both connections were fine.

Thanks in advance!

Check the cables and be sure they are connected well.
Switch the two computer connections at the router and see if the problem moves to the other machine? If it does your router is at fault.

On the machine that is disconnecting, try re-intsalling the network card drivers. These do become corrupted from time to time. (they shouldn't but they do).

Then watch the screen and see if when it disconnects you get a message telling you a cable has been disconnected. If you do you may have a bad eithernet card.

If the two are under pressure, it would be a controversy with the 2d workstation. If prompt, as one pronounced, ought to be interference. might additionally attempt yet another port on the router if under pressure. probable have the cat5 cable checked to verify that's sturdy.

could be a hardware failure. Try plugging the PC into a different port on the router.
