Actually Yemen is not one of the leading oil producers in the region and the quality of oil is actually cheap, so they do not make much money from oil anyway.

I also tend to disagree with the theory that the leader takes the money, if that had been the case, saudi arabia would be the poorest country on the face of this planet.

(I have the same name as you) Anyway, Yemen is a poor country because its president, Ali Abdallah Saleh is greedy and puts all the money he gets from oil in his pocket, he doesn"t care about his people (very sad) Yemen is a historial country with beautiful, ancient sites. The average monthly income for a person living ther is about $100, 75% are poor and the rest live outside of Yemen scattered throughout all the countries of the world (USA, England, other Arabic countries, etc) well fortunately, my family is one of the lucky ones!
