I really want to know what's going on. My period is usually late. I was supposed to get it on Friday the 16th of this month (a few days ago) and I made love with my husband on Saturday with the intentions of getting pregnant. I still haven't gotten my period. Is there a posibility of pregnancy??? How long does it take to get pregnant after sex???

Threes a possibility that you are pregnant, but I would wait a few more days, but if you can't wait they have those new tests that claim to be able to tell you if your pregnant the moment you get pregnant. I'm not sure how accurate the new test is, but the other ones that have been on the market for some years are usually right.

The best bet is to make an appointment with your doctor and let them run the test. They leave no doubt! Good luck and I hope you are, but if your not remember this: It's always fun to trying to make a baby! don't get stressed and you can always try keeping your legs in the air after practicing. my sister said that helped her conceive my handsome nephew! Good Luck!!

If your period was due on the 16th you would have to have sex around the 2nd of this month to have become pregnant. Having sex the day after your period is/was due would not accomplish this. If you meant the Saturday before I think that also would be too late.
You should try an ovulation predictor kit to find out when you are fertile. It will be around 14-19 days after your period begins.
You still could be pregnant though if you had sex around this time. It is not too early to take a test so go ahead if you are really anxious. Just use your first morning urine so your chances of getting an accurate result are best.
Good luck to you.

Your menstrual cycle begins on the first day of red blood. About 10-14 days after that, in a normal cycle, one of your ovaries will release an egg. If you have had sex in the days leading up to this release (ovulation) then you have a chance of getting pregnant. However, having sex AFTER ovulation occurs does not result in pregnancy because the egg dies before the sperm can fertilize it. If no fertilization has occurred, your period begins 10-18 days after ovulation.

Many women experience irregular periods. You say your period is always late. It is not uncommon for a woman to have a 32 day period, or a 25 day period, or any other length of time.

The standard spiel of ovulation occurs on day 14, period starts on day 28 is only a general guideline. Some women have 45 day periods and that is normal *for them*.

Check out the book "Taking Charge of your Fertility" by Toni Weschler for more information! It's a great book and really informative.

Good luck!

You could be pregnant but of course if you are trying to get pregnant take a test a week from now and if it says no then they have ovulation tests a wal-mart and maye that will help you out some. When I found out I was pregnant it was in Feb. but in Jan. i was like a week late then I only lasted two or three days then in Feb. a week before V-day I found out I was pregnant but everyone is different. GOOD LUCK!

If you are a female who is capable of ovulating, and you have had heterosexual sex, you could be pregnant. It could take 3 hours to anywhere between 2 and 7 days to become pregnant (2-7 days are the differing versions of how long sperm live in the vagina/uterus).

If you were supposed to have your period on Friday, then it is highly unlikely that you were ovulating on Saturday (unless your periods are irregular). Perhaps you were already pregnant?
