We all know the Lakers have been doing poorly lately. Kobe realized that early on and came back scorching with 2 straight wins. Do you know how many he scored in each? 65 and 50 points respectively. Can any other basketball player "turn it on" like him? He is a beast, and I believe he is better than MJ regardless of the number of rings he has won. Basketball might be a team sport, but I am comparing individual talent ,and Kobe has it all.

Gilbert Arenas has had 8 40+ point nights and Kobe has had 10. When Kobe scored over 40, he takes approximately half.... or more than half of the Lakers shots. Where as Arenas hasnt taken more than half the shots in any of the games he scares over 40. I think Kobe is horrible and one of the most overrated players in the league and any time something happens to him you have to hear about it. Arenas has scored 60 points this season against the Lakers on Dec 17 and yet you don't hear **** about it. Kobe is HORRIBLE!!!

Yes. Probably 20 or 30 other players in the league could score that many in back to back games. He took 76 shots in those 2 games and attempted 24 free throws. In player shooting around 50% from the field and 35-40% from the 3 point line could score that many with that many shots.

Wilt had 7 games in row where he scored over 50. He also averaged over 50ppg in a year. He scored 100 points in one game.

the answer to your question is yes. the players just dont do it because it isnt whats best for their team. i thought it was interesting one time when thinking about high single game scoring so i looked up the list. 1994 the last game of the season david robinson is chasing the scoring record-robinson scores 71. 16 years before was a similar situation except this time two players were involved (david thompson and george gervin) the final day of the season david thompson came out and scored 53 in the first half cruising to a cool 73 and feeling pretty comfortable about his chances. he ended with (27.15 ppg) later that day george gervin came out and also had 53 in the first half. gervin added 10 in the second half to bring his total to 63 and winning the scoring title (27.21 ppg)
