associate. I am 12 weeks pregnant and will be 13 weeks when I start. I didnt tell anyone that I was pregnant because I really need to get the job. Does anyone have any advice on how I can buy clothes that dont show I am pregnant for atleast a month or so. I have to dress up for the job so any help would be appreciated. Also, when I decide to tell everyone I am pregnant-I will be17 weeks so I am hoping that I wont get fired. thanks

First of all they cant fire you for being pregnant. You can always say that you didn't know for sure so you didn't say anything. As long as you can do the job it is none of their business and since they dont know you very well they probably wont even notice that you have a little tummy since they didn't know you when you were slimmer. Good luck.

Well, first off, they legally can _not_ fire you for being pregnant, thanks to the federal government. Since you just started and will not have been with the company for 1 year when you deliver you won't be eligible for FMLA, but if you're a good enough employee they may hire you back after you're done with maternity leave. Check with your state labor board (unemployment office) to be sure there aren't specific laws that apply, but I'm sure they can't fire you for being pregnant - it's discriminatory.

As far as clothing goes, I suggest you just buy up a size or two, don't tuck your shirt in or wear a belt or anything that fits too snug at the waist. Bulky sweaters work well for concealing your belly - just pretend you're heavier than you actually are. If someone asks you directly if you're pregnant, just smile knowingly and wink, or tell them that you'll let them know and shrug.

Good luck and congratulations on your upcoming addition to the family.

Hey!

I got a friend from work whos 6 months pregnant and she didn't wanted to say anything. She actually said it when she was 3 months pregnant. But of the old workers there said that she's suppose to say she's pregnant.

So I suggest that you say it around that time or three months later cause that the approximately time when your belly should be showing a bit.

Good Luck!!
Congrats

i agree with the first post. but if this is your first pregnancy you wont start to show until you're 4-5 months along well usually anyway. so another month of hiding it shouldn't be too hard.

I don't think you will be fired. That would be discrimination. Try wearing blazers and cute loose tops.
