please take note that i am only using my wireless router only for the sole purpose of sharing my dsl connection. i haven't set up any LAN, WLAN or any file sharing for both computers....

well it depends on the virus. some viruses do go through your network and which then equals to other computers getting the virus. but also it depends on how you set your firewall in the router. and D-Link is good with that, but there some virus plus user settings make a huge difference also.

only if sharing files, if someone copies a file to your pc over the network then yes you could get a virus,

Yes Still it is prone to virus. If you are aware that your router has an IP address.
