My tongue is perfectly fine the way it is, it's a happy tongue.

There could be several reasons for this.
Perhaps your tongue was tied and needed to be loosened, or too firmly in your cheek and needed to be pressed down.
It's also possible that your tongue was in danger of slipping - the depressor would have kept it 'down'.

Perhaps someone has issued a restraining order against your tongue. Do you talk too much? Hold your tongue! Don't say anything mean...I meant that tongue in cheek, of course. A slip of the tongue could be costly.
A busy tongue is a happy tongue. Is that the way it goes? Same as hands.
There's something I need to tell you about your doctor. It's on the tip of my tongue......just can't remember it.

Is this a real question or do you just want to see what kind of inane answers you can get. As an inane answer he just wanted to depress your tongue.
For reality, he needed to see down your throat, and you can't see beyond to where your tonsils would be if you had them and to the deeper part of your throat as your tongue is in the way. The only way to see down further is to hold down the tongue.

Your Doc is in cahoots with the pharmaceutical company. He is depressing your tongue so he can diagnose you with depression and prescribe medication. I have seen this a dozen, a hundred,..a thousand times I say!

he was probably jealous of your happy tongue. after all it has been in some pretty nice places hasn't it? just think about that romantic night last summer, remember? so he wanted it to be depressed and sulky because he couldn't stand it

That's nothing! My doctor told me to strip naked, put on a paper gown, then sit on an ice-cold table.

I tried one flavored with peppermint. Ask your doctor for one. I hope you don't mind the taste, bud. Things will only get better. You just have to stick it out.
