Great thoughtful question! "They" would hear me complaining about my family and my job and probably me calling my bank account 3-4 times a week to make sure I balanced my checkbook right.

If "they" tapped my phone they would probably hear me talking to my sister, beotching about my mother. No big deal.
Of course I want to maintain my civil liberties but I'm also realistic enough to know that this is not the first, nor will it be the last time that the great "they" have overstepped their bounds and used illegal means to obtain information and complete covert operations.
This is just more of the same. I'm not saying it's right but let's call it what it is and stop acting like this is the first time that it's happened.

A lot of the anwers here show why we are heading into a state of fascism.
Its called privacy....something we were given by the constitution. Next you all will be saying that its alright to have cameras in your houses...because what the hell, you all have nothing to hide.
Its funny how brainwashed you already are if you are ok with the gov't. obstructing your constitutional rights. Its scary really.

Yes, I haven't discussed anything "incriminating" on my phone since I got back from SE Asia in 72. Nothing has changed, the media just found out about it! Duhhhhhhhh

Don't kid yourself! You got family? If one got in trouble maybe they would "CALL" you? If you ever make any foreign friends from countries on a list YOU would be thought of as one of them. Don't just wait around until something applies to you to be concerned about it or it may be too late and I gotta cut this short because as you know they are also listening in on internet connections

Complaining about work, school, family. Maybe a little gossip. How to make food just like mom's. They may get some juicy bits about political viewpoints.

I've worked in the telephone industry too long. I hate phones. My conversations are short sweet and to the point.
