80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

Yes, there is meaning of life. The meaning of life is eternal Law of the universe, known as namumyohorengekyo. Such meaning of life tell us that everything is in dependant orignation with everything else and that every phenomena has its eternal and everlasting existence.
Your body is mortal, but your lifeforce that give life to such body is eternal. You will return to suchness when you will remain in the state of bliss and than return again to preach the Law again. This will continue for eternity. Rest and activity. I come from the suchness and I know those things.
I appear as oportinuty serves and i preach as oportunity serves but if fact, regardless of my mortal body, I come from the world of suchness.

The meaning of life is what you make of it. Not what ppl say about what life means - for ie.you gotta be christian or somthing-NOT TRUE. In fact it annoys me how soo many ppl come to this site and say so many dominating things about christianity as if they're trying to convert ppl into it. Anyways sweetie life is you. What you are, what you do, your mistakes...what YOU want from it and what you want to make it about.

Life – it has a meaning and loving purpose - you just have to find your purpose and live it.

I believe every person is here for a definite purpose. Each person is special and valuable; that refers to me, you, your family, friends, in fact everybody! There is a loving plan for each of our lives here on earth and there is no such thing as coincidence. I don't believe that anything in life happens by chance and that every aspect of our lives points to something deeper.

You need to decide now to live for God rather than for yourself. You spend your life on Earth preparing yourself (as best you can) for death. I don't see death as a scary, negative experience, but birth into a bliss filled eternal life with God. I believe that this is something you have to consciously choose or not during your life on earth.

The meaning of life is for us to discover that we are true children of an infinitely loving God, to find out what our responsibilities are to our Creator, and to fulfill those responsibilities. Each of us is called to affirm, accept and develop the talents God has given us. -

what are you doing now? , what have your parents done for you? have you done anything to help humanity lately?

the meaning of life is to give your all and to help all that you can that might not be as fortunate as you, by you learning and sacrificing yourself, by making yourself a better person and working to gain the knowledge to make this round ball that we call earth a better place for all. there is a meaning, that is why we keep on reproducing for the lucky chance that a child in the future can explain it to the rest of us.

The meaning of life is to follow Jesus and to do His will. God sent His son to die for us and our sins. Since we are sinners, we could never have a relationshipe with God. But Jesus died so that we could have that relationship. Then He rose three days later, and He is coming back soon to get us. Those who are ready for Him will be caught up in the clouds with Him to live for eternity (by ready I mean Christians). He wants everyone to know Him, and He made you so that you could get to know Him. Don't wait until it's too late to know Him. Do it now, repent of the sins that you and I commit everyday. He loves you so much and He wants a relationship with you! I hope this gives you a good look at what our lives are for! Love you and so does Jesus!

For a question to be answered there must be an answer to answer it. This question has an unknown answer and will always be an unknown answer so there is basically no answer to it. So what is the point of asking a question without an answer when a question with out an answer is not a question at all?

I think that there is no meaning of life in general, but that we create purpose for our own lives.
