By continuing to fund the war, by supporting the mechanisms that make the war possible, the Democratic Party is supporting war, torture, deceit and corruption. They are guilty of the same murder and crimes against humanity that the Bush crime family is guilty of. Supporting the troops is making those crimes possible.

Many liberals who make the claim of being anti-war distinguish between supporting the troops and not supporting the war. This door doesn't swing both ways. Knowing the Iraq war to be illegal and immoral, how can liberals support those who willingly participate in carrying it out?

The recent non-binding resolution passed in Congress against the escalation in Iraq has the Democrats having it both ways, again. Those in Congress who oppose war should shed the G.W. Bush avoidance complex of not taking responsibility. They should offer the proof of their convictions for ending the war by defunding it. U.S. Representative, Dennis Kucinich, stated,

The Federal Court has made it abundantly clear that once a war is well underway, Congress' real power is to cut off funds. Funding the war is approval of the war.

The leaders who desperate to steer us into aggression, invasion and now profession had no longer planned for resentment. palms have been bought, contracts have been signed without aggressive bids and money replace into stored in the palms of the few. Now, we pay, and the money nonetheless does no longer bypass the place it rather is maximum needed. The day while the sheep revolt would be a bleating sturdy day.

Actually, 126 Democrats in the House and 21 Democrats in the Senate voted against the lie-based Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002:

Only SIX REPUBLICANS in the House and ONE Republican in the Senate voted against the LIE-BASED QUAGMIRE.

So, the notion peddled by rightwingers that Democrats SHARE RESPONSIBILITY because a MINORITY OF DEMOCRATS BELIEVED THE LIES ABOUT WMD, is patently RIDICULOUS.

I don't see a way not to. The military-industrial complex (yes, there is such a thing) is gigantic. It's funded by both parties. If we didn't have wars to fight, and lots of 'em our economy would suffer a big hit if not total collapse. Do you think anyone in D.C. (democrat, republican or other) is trying to ween the D.O.D. off their humongous budget? If so I haven't heard.

Because to them, the enemy is the bush administration not the terrorists. And the last thing they want is a victory in Iraq simply because it would be positive for the president.

Pretty sick to be willing to lose this war just for some perceived political advantage at home.
