It goes to sleep to conserve power and then will not power back on. I have to remove the battery and let the stored power drain before it will restart. Does anyone have a similar problem or know how to fix it?

Hello Grindking53,

You know laptop batteries don't last forever. The older batteries start having problems getting and holding a charge You may need to look into buying a new one. Go to your Mac dealer and get a new one.

There's also some on-line places that specialize in batteries, but make sure that it will work with your specific PowerBook. You may need to get the serial number on your present battery.

Best of luck to you.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
