I'm 27. I have had my period since I was 13 and it has always been constant. I am definitly not pregnant unless its the next miracle child... So whats wrong? What could possibly be causing this? Most importantly... what can i do about it?

Thank you so much all. Really appreciate it. I always knew it had something to do with stress (when it happens to someone else), but when its yourself, it gets different. You cant believe stress could even have anything to do with it. I can rule out losing or adding weight as a culprit. I have been feeling down and depressed and craved a lot of sweet food nowadays.. maybe even putting on some weight because of it. and I AM SURE I am not pregnant.. i have also ruled that out.

Okay my period does this every time my body changes. I'm 20 but as i was growing my periods were last because I was underweight. Then I was overweight and they were late. I found a healthy weight and they were regular. Now I'm under a lot of stress and my period is late, worrying about it makes it worse. What I do when my period is late, is massage my stomach and have a warm relaxing bath, if a bath isn't available, try going to the indoor swimming pool and just float there for a bit. I find water really relaxing when I need my period to arrive. Or just have a warm shower before you go to bed and not think about anything.

Good luck.

P.S. Also go to the doctors if it's more than 2 weeks late, you may need a pap smear and an ultrasound. You aren't pregnant so testing for everything is what you want. Just try the bath thing first, if you don't get it the next day, book in for a doctors appointment. Just don't worry about not having a period. The more you worry the less likely it will arrive.

Whoi on earth knows. This month I was late a week. I thought oh my here is baby #4 while the 3rd still doesnt even have teeth. I am 35 and way too old for this anymore. Good luck. When I was in my 20's sometimes I'd skip a month and was not having sex. A total mistery

It could be caused from stress or maybe a change in weight. I would say if it doesn't start within a month I would go to the doctor and see what's going on.

More often than not, it's stress. Moving, a new job, lack of sleep, things like that. Changes in eating habits can also have an effect. If it doesn't get back to normal after a few months, you should see your doctor.

Have you lost a lot of weight. Often times women that become too thin lose thier periods. Its thier bodies way of making sure they dont become pregnant during a famine.

Go see a doctor. They can answer better than we can. Good luck.

I've been super stressed before and I didn't have a period one month. The next month it was back again at a normal flow.

Your iron level could be low, stress, excessive exercise any of these could cause your period to be late.
