They tried and its too deep and too heavy to lift out from such depth. Besides, theres not much left of it, its a rusty heap.

What would be the purpose? The pressure from the ocean is probably the only thing that has kept if from crumbling. You do realize just how deep it is dont you? It takes the little mini sub thing 3 hours to get down there.

Due to her fragile condition, the depth, and the immense cost involved, no. At least not intact. A lot of controversy surrounds the possibility of someone dismantling the ship and raising it piece by piece.

They probably could get it out, but in many pieces. Most people really don't want to remove it though because it's historical and a lot of people died there.

Several Reasons:
1: Its to heavy and would break apart proably if it was tryed to lift it.
2: Its in several pieces and not just one big hole piece.
3: Its a Interanational protected histrocial site.

cost, and also its really deep and far down, and also think about it, if they try moving it, it might fall apart. its rusting away as we speak, cuz its been down there for about 95 years now. they brought up pieces of it, and artifacts. i think thats good enough. also think, its kind of like a tombstone for those who drowned that early morning, so it should be left there for respect, and rememberance.

It's too heavy. And besides, leaving it there keeps the mystery and the romance alive.

Why would you want to remove it from the ocean?
It's a part of history, and we shouldnt alter that.

Yes, it's true that it's very fragile... However, they want to leave it there to memorialize the people who died.... kinda like putting a tomb somewhere.

The cost would be more than the salvaged material would be worth not to mention the danger involved.
