Numerous WWE wrestlers have been linked in a series of government steroid investigations as has just been reported at www.sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/more/03/19/wrestlers/
According to documentation viewed by Sports Illustrated reporters Luis Fernando Llosa and L. Jon Wertheim, Dr. David Wilbirt of Arizona, who is under investigation from the DEA for writing 3,879 prescriptions for patients who requested drugs over the Internet, was linked with Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Oscar Gutierrez (Rey Mysterio), Randy Orton, Adam Copeland (Edge) and Shane Helms (Gregory Helms) and at least five other names they recognized that did not make the story.Copeland and Helms were listed as receiving HGH, not anabolic steroids. Guerrero was listed as having been billed and sent stanazol (Winstrol), and Wilbirt allegedly issued a prescription for Gutierrez for nadrolone (Decadurabolin) and stanazol.

I think all of it is so sickening and it literally is! I mean, if u want to make ur dream come true, that's beautiful, but would u really look back on it and say I did this on my own and I made it? No, you wouldn't! Whoever does that isn't strong enough to survive life's challenge, no matter how many pills they take!

Two weeks ago, Sports Illustrated linked the name of Kurt Angle to the recent Internet steroids raids. Today, many more names have been linked to alleged steroid and/or HGH sales. The wrestlers mentioned today are Edge, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, Gregory Helms, and the late Eddie Guerrero. As wrestling fans know, Eddie died of heart disease in which his steroid use was a contributing factor.

I knew the WWE would do this - and it's pretty smart, too. They released the following statement, which if you want to be technical, is correct:

All of the allegations set forth in a recent SI.com article mentioning WWE predate the initiation of WWE’s current Talent Wellness Program. This WWE program prohibits the use of performance enhancing drugs, as well as other prescription drugs which can be abused, if taken for other than a legitimate medical purpose pursuant to a valid prescription from a licensed and treating physician. For purposes of WWE's policy, prescriptions obtained over the Internet and/or from suppliers of prescription drugs from the Internet are not considered to have been given for a legitimate medical purpose.

This isn't a surprise and after the death of Eddie, Vince has pushed to get drugs out of the locker room. Anyone else notice how much smaller the Masterpiece is these days? Anytime you are paid millions based on how your body looks, then people are always going to be looking for ways to make it look the best they can to cash in as much as they can. This just isn't happening in Wrestling, its happening in all of sports as well.

That is sad. I am surprised at some of those names. There are so many examples of what happens to those who take short cuts to success. These men are too talented to be doing this.

I'm sure wrestlers like Eddie Guerrerro, Hawk, and others that have died from steroid use would love to be able to warn them about where they are heading.

I'm not surprised and really i could careless as them using steroids is just hurting themselves

I say they sud be able to use them in the WWE because it only enhances their look and does not cheat anyone in the company since they can make whoever they want win at any time

Nice link. I had know idea that sports illustrated reported on pro wrestling, or that it had any ties with CNN. Or that it was against federal law to prescribe Stanozolol (FDA approved) or Nandrolone (also FDA approved).

And I'm really surprised that a fake news report doesn't use spell check.

This does not surprise me one bit. I figured that wrestlers were still using steroids. And, Vince says the WWE is steroid-free. I never believed it nor will I ever believe it.

those things don't surprise me we all know that eddie guerrero died because of his use of steroids in the past. I think everybody did it at some point because they were no reprecusions if they did do it.
