How do you go about negotiating your salary if you asked for less in the preliminary application (online) and want more to meet the avg that the company is already paying to new graduates?

in response to shanna...I asked for $22/hr but came across a website that said that the lower scale was getting $25. then again that did not factor the location or years as a nurse. somewhere else i heard it was $16-20 but I'm not sure about that either. I posted the question to see if by chance someone in that area saw it and be able to give me a response. I just wanted to make sure that I was asking for enough and if not how to go about to ask for more. Answering any of those 2 questions would be great!

I guess you can tell them that you hadn't factored in the new costs you'd be incurring by moving to a new location. Why are you asking what's the starting pay and in your question you stated that you stated your salary requirements to later find out that it was less than what they pay new graduates. If you know it's less, then you should already know what they get paid, right?
