Remember, abortion is not your only option. What did the doctor's tell you was wrong with your baby? That person is precious. I'm sure he or she can't wait to meet you. :o)

There's the surgical procedure where you are wide awake and aware of what's going on. Then there's the twilight. You are not fully asleep you can hear what's going on, but you are in like a daze. Then there's abortion by pill. This method is very messy and hurts like hell. I would not recommend it. They start off at around $300 up to $450 depending on how far in the pregnancy you are.

If your doctor told you that, then ask if him if he knows of a hospital in your area that performs them. It is usually less traumatic than going to a clinic. Depending on how far along you are, you may even be able to be induced with pitocin and deliver your baby naturally. I had to have a medically necessary abortion 4 years ago. I was a little over 5 months along. I even got to hold my baby girl for the hour and twenty min that she lived after birth. I am Catholic so I had a priest go to the hospital to baptize her. The hospital provided a pregnancy loss care package that included pictures, a homemade baby blanket that she was wrapped in and the little outfit (dress, cap, & booties) that they dressed her in for the pictures. Having it this way also insured that we were able to have a burial for her.
It is a hard decision to make, I have been there. You will get through it. But please get a second opinion before you make the decision to abort. I went to 2 specialists before I went through with it.
Oh and my insurance covered it. This was in California.

Well, from personal experience the vacuum suction was the best method. I'm located in Chicago and the cost was $350. I was put to sleep and about an hour later it was done. The method type also depends on how far along you are in the pregnancy.
