I put my daughter (15yo) who is a drama queen on the phone. She loves to listen to their whole spill, act very interested, get them all worked up thinking they have made a sale then she starts to cry and gives them this whol sad (made up) story about why she can't afford it right now. Usually keeps them tied up at least 20 or 30 minutes. They rarely call back.LOL

Well you know it's a telemarketer when there's a delay in the connection, like all those telemarketing calls that come from Indian call centres and they try to make out there from a suburb near you (lol). As soon as I hear the delay I just start yelling "What" repeatedly. Either they hang up or stop talking long enough for me to without appearing rude. I loathe hanging up whilst someone is talking.

I try to be polite and not cut them off or hang up on the callers. If they want a charitable donation, I reply that I am raising money to support a project of collecting and shipping books to a school in Brazil. I tell them that all my resources are already devoted to this, and ask them if they would like to send me a donation. If they are selling something or some service, I usually say that I am not interested in discussing it over the phone, and I politely ask them to not call again.

I usually tell them that its not a good time...and then I ask for their home number to call them back. (Normally they are totally confused and don't know what to say.) Then I say "Oh you don't like being bothered at home either" Then I proceed to hangup

kep them on the line tell them you are interested keep them in suspence then ask them to hang on and don't talk again ,im a teller marketer

ask them for the home phone number and tell them u call them back later... start singing them a song.... pretend your a chinese restraunt and say is that for here or to go...
