This guy at my job is a total jerk and he bugs a lot of people. Any advice on how I can not let his rude comments bug me?

Yes, tell him.

I too have this one guy who takes forever to tell a bad joke. He was always stopping me and telling me. So I just told him I did not think his jokes were funny. He has since layed off. But we are on friendly terms cause we have what I call an understanding.

Ignore them. it kills them pretend it does not bother you and that you could not care less what they do. whether they live or die, smoke, eat, drink, work or get fired. when they can't stand it anymore they will up the pressure on you then you can up the stakes too file an harrassment charge against them if you choose. This will let them know your serious about their behavior and if they value their job they will be very careful to not disturb you. Whether they like it or not no one has a right to make you work life anymore difficult than it already is except the boss and the people he puts in charge. The law still protects you from them if they fail to provide a safe work environment. This is not the dark ages.

try to have a polite talk . Explain how you feel.. Let him know you mean business. Is your boss aware? Do you have a union? He can be charged with work place harassment.. Ask others for support.

You could try the raging lunatic bull response next time he bugs you and make a big scene. That usually works but it ain't pretty.

I would ignore him by listening to my mp3 player and have on full volume. and if that doesnt work then you would be forced to curse his *** out! and tell him how you feel.
