No. Mine died on June 17, 2005 at the age of 75. He had been very ill for the last 10 years of his life and I helped to take care of him. I'm sorry that you grew up without yours. Even though there were many things about mine that I wish would have/could have been different, I think it would have been harder for me not to have had him at all. My heart goes out to you.

Mine, also, passed away. I was 16, a junior in high school. It bums me out because I was such a brat at that age. I always wonder what it would be like to have him here to ask advice, or just have a grown up relationship. I am still so very lucky to have my mom who I absolutely adore!

Mine hasn't been since i was 5!
I've 're-constituted' and been a great father. I hope you have too.
I wonder what characteristics we may have in common because of it!

No, my father died in 2002 (four and half years ago) from colon cancer. He was the rock in our family. He was the one I always knew believed in me no matter what. He is the one I always looked up to. When I was looking for a spouse, someone like him is what I was looking for. I was 22 when he died and I miss him terribly!!! :( You only had your dad for five years of your life and I had mine 22 so I guess I shouldn't complain...

Yes he is.....he's 79 years old and for all of my life, he has never told me he loved me. He shows it but he just was never able to say the words. Sorry you didn't get to know your dad, I hope you had a good male role model while you were growing up. :))
