I have a question for those who say this: How would you feel if a stranger snooped in your diary and chose to share this with other people? Even if there's nothing bad in your diary?

It's political because I'm addressing the NSA's illegal spying.

In the surveillance culture that the United States has become, notions of patriotism have become dangerously skewed. Somehow we have come to accept the creepy meme that when we give up our rights — like privacy — we are being patriotic. That voluntary waiving of our civil liberties is a great proof of our patriotism. This misguided patriotism is acceptance of despotism. It is fascism.

The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government — lest it come to dominate our lives and interests. — Patrick Henry

More Americans are realizing their perceived walk in the park is actually a slow and steady march toward tyranny and theocracy. While many of the changes they have instituted are still abstract to many Americans (i.e. the Patriot Act), the Plutocrats, Oligarchs, and Theocrats are on the verge of extinguishing our republic. They have already installed the mechanisms to forge a fascist state. Historically, fascism has included the use of propaganda and censorship, strong nationalism, fusion of religion and state, and corporatism.

They do not care what you do to yourself while nobody is looking. They just want to protect you whiners from being blown up while you buy stuff and live in your perfect little worlds.

It is a symptom of a greater concern, there is a point where control can get out of hand and it starts with forfeiting what we consider to be the most insignificant liberties.

Allows your freedoms to be restricted without a fight will only lead to further infringement upon your privacy.

Human nature is one of curiosity, the more information we allow to be discovered the more one will want.

It is like an indecent assault on privacy even if there is nothing bad in a diary unless permitted by the diary writer.
