all tarantulas have venom! unless you get them devenomized but thats expensive. they arnt allowed to give an answer because if they say no and you get bit then they are liable for anything that happens to you and they cant say yes because most dont have enough to kill you. Even if they are venomous they are very unlikely to bite unless they feel threatened! if you want sum specifics there was a bit of good info on the following website... anyways good luck

peace out bunnie!

First off , there is no record of anyone ever dying from a tarantula bite directly. There most likely have been people in treed get bitten and fall off the tree and die, or maybe get an infection from the puncture wound and die but thats not really casued by the tarantula. All spiders are venomous period. You can not devenom a tarantula with out killing it. And even if you COULD devenom it and it survive it would have venom again after a molt i believe.
The short answer is there is always a possibility that a tarantula could kill you. No one can tell if you may have some hyper sensitivity to the venom, or get a bad infection from the puncture or what ever. Some say that due to the makeup of the venom its impossible to be allergic to it, but personally i dont know. But the odds of any tarantula you are keeping for a pet and got at a pet store killing you directly as a result of its venom is pretty slim. You probably stand a better chance of getting hit by a train in the middle of the sahara desert.

I have a rose hair tarantula. I asked a specialist about the same thing. When a tarantula of any kind is sold in a pet store they only contain a small amount of venum. When they do bite you it will feel like a staple gun. Their venom is as strong as a bee sting. If you are allergic to bees then you will be allergic to the tarantula. Just a note to let you know as long as you have crickets in its cage and it is not starving you have a good chance of not getting bit. I have had my tarantula for 4 years handled many times never have been bit. Chances are very slim as long as you feed him regularly.

I have what my doctor calls generalised neurotoxin allergy. If I get bitten by a regular spider, it's like a 2nd degree burn. A common tarantula (like a pink toe or a rose hair) will cause a more widespread rash, as well as numbness in the affected area. A bee sting could cause cardiac arrest. It's not bad enough to stop me from playing with the tarantulas at work. I take some Benedryl when I get home and I'm fine. If you want one, get one, they're awesome pets! (wish I could have one, but my boyfriend is afraid of spiders lol)

if you are allergic to the venom then yes but otherwise it has the equivalent potency to a bee sting if you get bit. i would advise going to the hospital if you get bit by one though just in case there is a reaction.
