Can we pimp-slap their parents for not teaching them to know better?

There are two solutions to kids who act badly: Catholic nuns and "Brat Camp".

Kids today have so little respect for teachers. They don't pay attention, don't do their homework, and they have a terrible attitude. When you are being taught by a Catholic nun, you pay attention.......... guaranteed! Those nuns have a thousand tricks up their sleeves, and they're always more clever than the biggest juvenile delinquent.

Your little Johnny has Attention Deficit Syndrome? Hogwash! Put him in a class with a nun, and she'll crack his knuckles with a ruler every time he wanders off. Pretty soon his "learning disability" will magically disappear.

Second method: "Brat Camp". Last year, they had this great program by that name. At the beginning of the show, all the teens were full of swagger and bad attitude. They openly mocked their parents and anyone who tried to change them.

After three days of hauling a backpack through the hills, these kids weren't so tough anymore. They were openly crying, and begging their parents to let them come home.

See? There's simple solutions. Just tell the PC Liberals to back off.

I think discipline is a better word than punish, as it implies both positive and negative action. We all have to exercise self discipline. And yes, we CAN still discipline our children. As a matter of fact, you can spank children, just not beat them, there is a difference. Parents with a good program of discipline, which involves daily training, should rarely have to resort to harsher methods. I do hold parents accountable for todays out of control generation. Discipline is about respect for authority and control (proper)- many of todays parents have simply handed the reins to their children. For shame.

Do you have children? No, you shouldn't be able to "pimp-slap" (as you so charmingly put it) parents, but they should be held accountable to a degree, depending on the child's age. I give my children love and respect and they behave, beating a child (and I don't mean the occasional swat on the behind) does not work and only breeds fear and resentment, not respect and behavior.

That wouldn't teach the kids anything, and the parents must already know they screwed up. Hit the kids.

I know you might be desperate to use the techniques that your pimp taught you, but who says that we can't punish our kids anymore?

Well we can for a short while, that is until the law is called. There are other ways to get the kids to behave. Beating them is just far quicker and you feel a whole lot better afterwords,.
