would a complete master set of 2003 topps baseball cards of 3804 be a good investment beings there could only be 50 certified sets in the world?

When you say master set, I'm assuming that you mean all of the cards that Topps produced in 2003. I'm also assuming that you're talking about all of the insert cards and specialty cards that come with the set.

There definitely won't be very many people in the world with all of those cards, but I have to ask how many people would actually want all of those cards. With the price that Topps has been charging for it's more recent cards, I would imagine that the price of this set would be very high. If you bought these cards as an investment, you would be "betting" that these cards would be worth more in the future.

With the quantity of new cards being produced over the last few years, I would *not* expect that the 2003 set is actually going to be rare, though some of the cards you get will be rare.

For my money, I would probably be more likely to buy a vintage set. If I wanted 2003 cards, I wouldn't spend a couple thousand dollars. Now, if you can get this set for under a grand, you might be able to break it up in the future and make some cash on it, but you're not going to get rich on baseball cards, especially the newer cards. If you buy them, I would recommend that you buy them to enjoy them.

I collect baseball cards ... but what is a topps master set (difference between the regular set) - does this include all of the inserts offered in 2003 topps packs?
