I had my second child on my due date at 10 minutes until midnight! I actually went up to the hospital earlier in the evening with false labor and my doc said to come on up and maybe he'd induce me since it was my due date. He sent me home, though...I was 25% effaced, but not even a finger-tip dialated. He said that the baby was head down, but not dropped and that my cervix was just not ripe enough to induce me. I cried all the way home at about half past 10. Of course, we'd called everyone and told them that we were going to the hospital and had to call them back and tell them that we were coming back home. We'd only been home about 20 minutes when my water broke which was immediately followed by a strong contraction and then another. They were two minutes apart! We called, but my doc said he thought I should wait and make sure it wasn't a false alarm. We hopped in the car anyway and my husband honked through several red lights in downtown Kansas City (it was about a half hour drive or more from our house). Thank goodness we didn't listen to the doctor...I delivered after being at the hospital for only ten minutes!

I'm so sorry hun, I know how you feel. My first baby girl didn't want to come out either. And believe me, I tried everything you can think of. I tried walking (miles upon miles), castor oil, bumpy roads, spicy foods, etc. etc. NOTHING worked. Ieventually went 9 days overdue, was scheduled for an induction and 5 hours before my induction I went into labor on my own.

The statistics I've read is approx. 5% of babies come on their duedate, and first babies pregnancies last approx. 41.5 weeks. I know this doesn't make you feel any better and I'm so sorry but just think, you've made it 9 months, you can make it a few more days!

And the non-stress test is nothing to worry about, they just hook you up to a monitor that straps on your belly and they have you push a button every time you feel the baby move. If she won't move they have a little buzzer they buzz your tummy with to wake her up (doesn't hurt). The only thing that sucks is it lasts 20 minutes and I always got so bored I'd forget to push the button when the baby moved! :) They just want to make sure the babies heart responds appropriately when she moves around.

Good Luck!! I'll pray that you go into labor tonight and have a fast, easy delivery!

I bet you're miserable and uncomfortable! But don't worry about it, the baby will come when she's ready! Once she's here, you won't have time to rest for awhile, so get as much as you can. As long as the baby is fine, and there's no distress, just be patient! Ask your doctor if inducing you is an option. Btw, I was induced and my son was born three weeks earlier because of fetal distress, not anywhere near his due date.

Good luck to you!

Babies will always come out when they are ready. As a mother of 2, neither on of mine came out on their due date. One was 1 week late, the other 2 weeks late. Doctors will normally induce after 1 week, I lucked out because my doctor was on holidays and i did not want the induction. Look at it this way, no pregnancy has ever went on forever, even though it may seem like it.

Aww...I feel for you. My son came excatly on his due date, right at noon...it was kind of funny...he was a good listener even before he was born. Seriously, the best thing that you can do is be patient. I know that you might be miserable now..but in a couple of weeks you'll be wishing that you could put the baby back (haha). Without sounding cheesy, try to savor this short time where you get to be selfish and just take care of you.

it incredibly is often up on your Dr and while they'd get you scheduled for as to while they'll do it. while i became precipitated, I went in on a Mon to "communicate" approximately it(became 41wks) and that i became in there at 5am Tues. the subsequent morning to commence the technique. they'll many times do an ultrasound to envision for sufficient fluid around the toddler and video show the toddler's heartrate and reaction to stimuli.(you only take a seat in a chair and that they strap the toddler video show on you) consistent with that your Dr would be certain how briskly it should be carried out. now and returned, if each little thing looks good your Dr may be prepared to attend longer. In my own journey nevertheless(I certainly have 5 toddlers) the single i became precipitated on harm one hundred% greater and became insufferable. I actually ripped my very very own hands to shreds attempting to get a cope with on the soreness. With precipitated hard artwork you haven't any longer have been given your physique's very own organic pass, it incredibly is a compelled pass that only keeps drawing close you and that is greater durable and only extremely no longer exciting. My certainly went into hard artwork births have been lots much less difficult and the toddlers did alot greater advantageous so in case you do no longer would desire to be precipitated do no longer. i comprehend it is not hassle-free fantastically once you're going over your anticipated date of transport, yet those dates would be off as much as two weeks so that is attainable that your toddler isn't even totally waiting for yet another week or 2.

Did you know that 92% of due dates are at least a week off? I know it's hard trying to wait for nature to take its course, but try to enjoy yourself while you still have time for yourself. Hit the library and find an exciting book, or go shopping for really cute stuff for your baby. Be patient, walk and stretch lots, try any techniques you can think of (as long as they wont hurt baby) to induce yourself and enjoy the final days of your adventure to mommyhood. Good luck

the doctors can never really predict the exact date of when the baby is due, mine is due anywhere between august 14 - 25... noone can ever be sure, just depends on what your body thinks is right for you and the baby. at least that is what i have always been told. so i wouldn't worry, just take it easy and enjoy a few more days of sleep while you have a chance. lol.

I was due two days ago, and am going in to be induced tomorrow for previous medical reasons. It's common for firstborn children to be delivered after their due date. At my last appointment on Friday I was still closed, so...it's just a quirk of nature. Stinks, but it's normal. Bear through it and you'll have your princess in your arms before too long.
