I hook up external speakers to my laptop and project DVD (movies) onto a large screen. With the movies there isn't much volume and everything is turned up as far as possible. Is there some kind of booster I can hook up to send more volume to my external speakers?

Since your speakers can't get any louder, an amplifier won't help because your speakers can't handle it and beside an amplifier will only make it worse because of all the distortion. You need to get speakers that has the amplifier built-in or invest in a home theater in a box. You may have a good sound card (doubtful, since most laptops use built-in chip instead of a full soundcard) but it can't get the best sound if you don't have a sound system or speakers to get the best out of it.

Notebooks (laptops), at the instantaneous are not prevalent for his or her awesome sound equipment (or lack thereof). Now in case you havent tried this already, proper click the picture of the speaker, (next to the clock down on the right hand bottom of the demonstrate screen), opt for "open volume administration" (or "open volume mixer on living house windows vista") . or you are able to double click it, yet proper click it for now, and verify the quantity is determined proper. I definitely have not heard of Everex, so i'm no longer attentive to the emblem and its specs. now you'll get particular audio equipment for notebooks (laptops), that are small and some are effective. wish this facilitates. e mail me and that i visit seem up the specs of you workstation, and see what type of sound card you've, it will be a first rate one.

There is but your speakers have limits. If they go beyond due to the extra power from the program you downloaded, the speakers will burst. Just buy new speakers or a sub woofer that have the same capabilities as a stereo system.
