I'm 15 and i have a lisp and i hate it. I'd do anything to get rid of it, and i know that is sounds kind of gay when i hear it in a recorder (and i'm not gay). Is there anything i could do at home to try to get rid of it, or at least minimize it? i can't really go to a speech therapist because i live to far away from any, 2 hours in fact. Thanks in advance.

See a speech pathologist. Your school district most likely contracts for their services. Through the school, it will cost you nothing. See your guidance counselor who will, pave the way for you to get the help you need. A very famous speech pathologist once told me there is NO excuse for a lisp, that it is a lazy habit, and it can be easily dealt with. Good luck.

Go to your high school counselor and see if you can see a speech consultant. I had a lisp in third grade. I was given a bunch of "S" tongue twisters, and then I was tested. It takes like 3 weeks to get over it.

Don't they offer speech class in school? i know some schools do you just have to practice saying the different words that have a lisp sund to them and try to improve it.

Try talking to your dentist, and see if it is caused by misaligned teeth, as the teeth and tongue have a lot of interplay in speech.
