Yea, you can tell because its a lot of water, and if you are showering, you could feel it happening!

Ooh, I sure could tell the difference between pee and water breaking. You know how you can pinch off, stop peeing mid-stream? You can't do that when your water breaks. You'll aslo feel it. So I'd say you'd know, even in the shower or bath. Plus, it's not like whoooosh and it's done. Even if you didn't feel the liquid coming out, you'd dry off from your shower and still be dribbling.
Sorry if this is gross, but you know how it feels when you've got your period, you can feel the liquid? It doesn't feel like pee, right? Different place. Kind of like what the 'water' feels like. It might be slow and dribbly, or gushing. Also, when my water broke the liquid was pink-ish.

I've never had my water spontaneously (sp?) break, but I don't think it all comes out at once, especially if you're up moving around, I think it would continue to come out and you would definately know.
In fact, yes I remember with my son, they broke my water in the hospital bed, then put a HUGE pad on me, and asked me to walk the halls and I remember feeling water still gushing out occassionally.
So I think even if your water broke while going potty or in the shower you'd know it.

My friends Mom had her water break in the shower and she didn't know it by the time the Doctor figured it out, he had to order a emergency c-section. The baby is grown up know but he has had many mental and physical disorders, he's been in and out of mental hospitals, he is not all there.

Yes when your wate rwould break while
peeing.
You would probably feel a slight sting or tingling sensation inside of you.
Rush to the emergency room when you feel it.
