more than likely the windshield is leaking and it's running down behind the dash onto the carpet.

If you're sure the coolant isn't the problem it could be a leak around the windshield seal running down behind the dash. It happened on my cutlass that I had. If it happens during dry weather then it has to be coolant if is extremely wet carpet. Another possibility is condensation during extremely hot weather and running your air conditioning. Good Luck.

If you have a front fender antenna, make sure it is tight.I have seen a lotof this problem. You can also open the hood at night and have someone with a powerful light start shinning it under the hood while you look under the dash. Sometimes a rubber plug pops out and that can cause your leak.
Good luck.

Might be leaking thru the heater core. I had that problem before. Pretty expensive to fix......then again it could only be a gasket around the windshield or maybe even the door.

A few reasons: Leaking heater core, leaking windshield or plugged drain for evaporator core (housing that surrounds core). If 'water' tastes sweet, then it's coolant.
