Last summer I gave a contractor 15,000 to do some major work on my little home. A month later he went bankrupt. I am disabled and remortgaged my house to get that money. Now no money and no repairs. I sure could use some help. I have been trying to work part time. I am also able to do some of the work by myself, but that doesn't help when I can't even afford the materials now. Have been trying to get some other online work going, but not successful yet. Just running out of avenues and options. There is no ceiling insulation and that really needs to be done this summer, but i just don't know how at this time.

You should contact a lawyer or humanitarian group. I know you said he went bankrupt but he could still be punished because he knew he was filing for bankrupcy and still took your money. Its a long process, you don't just suddenly wake up one day bankrupt, you have to file for it, so he knew what he was doing. Lots of lawyers give free consultations.

I would suggest trying the churches in your area, they are SUPPOSED to help people less fortunate. I'm not in much of a position to help myself, if you were near New York I would though.
