Terrible EX -- I've had NO contact with him in 8 months -- yet he's still under my skin enough to interfere with my daily life (thoughts...lack of sleep...sadness). Since he turned out to be a horrible guy (I was SO wrong about him) ...why can't I let him go? I'm tired of holding onto these feelings for such a degenerate. How can I do this? Thanks...

Perhaps you were more addicted to the gentleman than you realized. Things like this go deep and we have to give it time. You will get tired of the same old treadmill eventually and let go of it. Go easy on yourself and dont punish yourself too much. It is ok. You are ok.

Wow, your lipstick is really red! Oh, yeah, your question: You can get over your "ex" with many prayers and self-affirmations. This, however, is going to take some time. Yes, 8 months is already a long time, but you're still holding on to him. Force your heart and mind to let him go. Like you said, he's horrible! I once let the thought of someone haunt me for 11 years. What a complete waste of those years of my life. Now? I can't even believe that I ever even gave him the time of day. Don't let this thing take you that long to get over, okay? Trust me, it's not worth it. Remember: prayer, self-affirmations, strength, patience, hope and faith. These are the things that will help you. Best wishes to you, Berry Luv!

I see the jerk every single day. It's been 9 months, and I'm just getting over him. It was a short relationship too. I look at him with disgust now. He hid his real self SO well. He is truly a scumbag. Hopefully, he wakes up and one day realizes it. Until then, he'll just continue to hurt people. But forgive and forget. Forgiveness is about you, not them. It's about you letting go. Write him a letter like I did. Dont give it to him, but it'll make you feel so much better.

Only you can allow him to enter your everyday thoughts and bother you in such a way. Change your thoughts. Catch yourself as you are thinking of him and make yourself think of someone or something else. Keep up on this, you will have to keep yourself aware all the time.

Find someone else to fill the void. It is the only way to get rid of an emotional affliction.
Also, until you do, concentrate on all the things about him you didn't like, but suppressed for the sake of the relationship. That always works for me, even did with 'the love of my life' when she stepped out on me...
In the end, I made worthwhile experiences I would never have had if she hadn't, and she never again found someone like me.
Her loss. Now translate that to your situation! ;-)

I wish I knew ... my troll is living in my basement & is getting married in a few weeks. Now my baby sister has given me all the "Sex & the City" CD's and OMG ... I'm only on season II, but what if my troll gets married and comes back???

Honestly, I've been dreaming of a troll free life ... and now, the anxiety ... will he ever go away??? At least you haven't seen your troll for 8 months.

because your afraid of getting hurt again and your holding on to the pain he caused because in some way you want revenge but in another way you just want to move on. I would suggest get it all out talk to someone you trust and just let it all out so you can move forward with your life. Good luck and stay strong

Don't waste your beauty crying over a spilled milk. Let him go and wash away the bitterness in your system. Beautiful and smart ladies like you and me (hehehe) definitely don't deserve crap like him.

It is not the end of the world. Smile and try looking for other men. There are lots of them for your picking.

You need to replace the pictures of him in your mind's eye.
Picture him as a laughing jackass, or an obscene gorilla...
anything that will make you disrespect him.
