cell phone tracking?

Question

Ive heard from many ppl that it is possible to track cell phones somehow over the internet.. I want to find out who stole hers so we can get it back
Any help appreciated with links on websites that could do a tracking
She has tmobile they say they cant track...I know theyre lying though but i might as well try myself

Police can ask the network operator to do this, but they won't unless the phone has been associated with a serious crime. It isn't worth the operator's time to do this simply because the phone has been stolen.
Tracking on the Internet is possible for certain opt-in services, but not in this case
