I pay everything on bill pay through the internet except my rent that I hand deliver. I skirt the fee by having both a direct deposit and also a monthly transfer from checking to savings, that I dutifully return the next day(on line). It works to keep them from charging me. I have nothing come out automatically other than the transfer. Still like to juggle money as an old habit.

More often than not I mail them in or go to the store to pay them (if it is a department store card you can usually pay in person) b/c the fees on line are more expensive than a stamp and many times the payments are not made effective the same day anyway (but in the store they are)

i try not to do either. i drive to the place & pay my bills unless it's for my credit card or my mortgage. then i'll drive to the post office and mail them. i'm too scared of someone stealing my identity off of the internet or taking my mail out of my mailbox.
