I know the feeling, I haven't smoked for nearly a year. The last time I got a lift with one friend she nearly killed me smoking in her car. Ever since I've avoided getting in the car with her. I suspect she thinks i'm being funny but it's the only way. you can't domineer what other people do but you also don't need to put up with it. if anyone ever asks just tell them what you just told us.

You could not have been a really good friend if you are willing to give up their friendship just because they smoke . What has friendship got to do with smoking. It is totally up to you to ask them to respect you and not smoke in your car or your house but remember they are within their rights to do so in and out of their properties. Friendship should not suffer because you stopped smoking, i just cannot understand this. Ex-smokers are a real painus in the anus and suddenly become holier than thou when they stop smoking, remember they put up with your smoking as well .

Stick to your guns, you don't smoke so why should you breath in others folks smelly smoke. If they are real friends they will understand and not drop you,if not, they are jealous. Get new friends non smokers.
When I gave up smoking I was always being asked if I wanted a ciggies from smokers who couldn't give up smoking themselves.
When they see all the lovely new clothes you are warring they will be asking your advice in how to give up smoking themselves......Good Luck

It's too much of an issue, but it seems as though it's more their problem than yours.
I quit a bunch of times, this time it's been a year and a half. I still have friends and family who smoke, and they're respectful enough to not do it in my home.

No No No!
Make sure you keep seeing you mates that smoke, if you keep seeing them, it may still put you off! Works for me.
Ive not smoked for ages and I dislike the smell now, but lived the life of it, so I deal with it, else it would be hypacritical!
I am soooo pissed off with our new law starting next month in the UK - No Smoking in pubs - f**kers, next it will be we had better only drink bottled water!

i have a couple of suggestions:
-encourage your friends to stop smoking
-if you cant tolerate the smoking and if your friends(those who understand your feelings) dont respect you they are not your true friends and you could always find a more positive influence

Do you have so little self control that you can't be around smokers? Epically after 2 years? Get a grip....
