Could anyone help me please. I've recently got a job at Framingham MA. The problem is, I dont drive and i've checked that framingham train station is about 5 miles away from my office so I cant even walk. I dont want to live in Framingham. I am 26 and have recently moved here from England. I want to live somewhere where I can go for food, pubs and nightclubs. Is it good to live in Cambridge? or anywhere which has a good night life but not as busy as Boston!! I've also been told that people share a ride to go to work. How does that work? Where can I get more info? Cheers.

Cambridge in always an option or Worcester. Both are heavy in the college age populations. If you need to plan a travel route, I would go to: http://www.mbta.com/schedules_and_maps/rail/lines/?route=WORCSTER
From the station, take a taxi. Tommy's Taxi is most popular or plan your arrival so a co worker can pick you up on their way to work. Depending on how well you job pays you may even look into Newton or Wellselly but they can run a little on the pricey side.
If you want to share a ride you can put an ad on craigs list at http://boston.craigslist.org/rid/ . Good luck.

Hello - I'm not sure how permenant your arrangement is, but with the advent of suburbs in America and places like Framingham, you'll see why cars are so important and America is such a gasoline-hungry nation.

Although your work is in Framingham, it's probably on the outskirts with a couple of office parks by the lake.

If you're on some sort of sabbatical, I have to admit you're in a tough position. I used to work in scientific office parks in the middle of nowhere and I always felt for the guys who needed to sell their car after 8 months at some rock bottom price because they were unable to use it.

You'll be doing a reverse commute if you live in Cambridge and work in Framingham, but realistically you should be looking to live anywhere cheap.

Yeah, what she (Krista) said!

Right on, and cheers to both of you!
