In many cultures, wearing two earrings, such as how women do is totally acceptable for men. However, in AMERICA men who wore one earring was frowned upon. Accordingly, with time...comes changes, from the 70's onward to the present one earring for men was acceptable. When the 90's rolled around many hiphop artists and sports personalities started to wear an earring in each ear. Thus, started a revolution of the earring trendiness.

It started in the 80's. I think the first time I saw it was on George Michael, from the music group, Wham! It just seem to stick after that.
