I been trying to update windows from my laptop home O.S computer but the problem is i couldn't retreive it

its been a hard time for me trying to get an update from microsoft to my laptop computer Home operating system. But everytime i connect to get the update is always failing. What causes me with this problem? Why can't i retreive the update and install it to my computer.

This is XP Home? Do you have Service Pack 2? Microsoft provides free tech support for Windows Update problems.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
