Usually I try to focus on the things that are bothering me, and figure out if there is anything I can do to change the situation. If not, then I focus on other things and try to do something I am good at/enjoy. I pray a lot, too. Good luck,

Ha! I knew there was someone else out there.

I have one all important question for you of " ... i get very insecure sometimes, ... "

At what point in your life did you think you were in complete control? and not just SOMETIMES? What color is the sun in your world?

You never had control of your life, only moments you thought you had it under control.

No one has control of their life. All they have is a set of rules that work most of the time when they need to REACT to what get thrown at them. When the rule seems to fit and things work the way you thought they should, You think you're in "control".

Control? Ha! Double HA is in HA-HA.
If you take life seriously, you think because you treat it seriously, it must be serious. What a crock of BS.
It just is what it is.

You putting your twist or meaning on life doesn't mean it has that meaning. It only means your rule applies or not. You've heard it before. We're at the top of the food chain because we solve problems and match patterns well. What good is a thumb if all we do is sit on it?

HA-HA Feeling secure is for those who buy into the whole control thing. If you worry about control, then you worry about security.

Here, I'll help you, though I don't know why. Look up Marcus Aurelius and get his book. Oh, he was a Roman emperor and the father of a way of living called Stoic Philosophy. That is something you can get your teeth into and tear off a piece big enough to chew on.

Good Luck.

I just thought, a little later, you needed a kick in the back-pocket area of your pants to "pick-you-up", so to speak.

i try to come up with a mental list of things that i am good at, or other positive things about me. of course, there are situations in which those positive things either seem irrelevant or don't seem to contribute much; at that point, honestly, i draw a blank.
