The sun has several different temperature layers. Here they all are, starting at the center and going outward (all temperatures are Fahrenheit) --

Center -- 27-million degrees
Convective zone -- about 7-million degrees
Photosphere -- 10,300 degrees
Chromosphere -- 22,900 degrees
Corona -- 2-million degrees

I remember one time i touched the sun and it was like 4,000,000,000 degrees celcius. Good thing i am superman and it didn't hurt me.
