Beauty is fictional. Once you have something you want something else. If you are too close to beauty you see it for what it really is and it becomes less.

If I'm interpreting it correctly, it kinda says that although something seems beautiful in the beginning, once you have it, it becomes normal to you, so you no longer appreciate what you have and instead want something better.

too much exposure or presence makes the heart unaffected

or absence makes the heart grow fonder

or the couple need time out from each other?

or don't see each other all da time?

or get someone away from you?
