Baby, that's my MAIN GIG!!!!! I have been watching it since it first went on the air...I was 6. I am now 58 and I still watch it. I only wish that they would show the black and white shows, as well.
As a kid I wrote a song about James Arness, to the tune of "Five Foot Two." As the yrs went by I started teaching myself the guitar. I got to be a fairly good performer in my neck of the woods, not so much as a good guitarist, but as a singer/entertainer/song writer. I wrote a song about Jamie and put it to my own music when he reeturned to tv as Jim McLain,"McClain's Law." I sang it in one of my concerts sponsored by the local library system..."Welcome Home Jamie,You Still Look Good To Me."
Now skip ahead tothe Spring of 2006. I was the very last person on this planet to get a computer and try to learn to use it. The first thing I did was to check on sites re: Jamie . I found out there was a contest.Winner got a phone call from him. Contest=essay about Gunsmoke. I wrote about "Matt's Love Story."...THE show of all the shows!!!!!!! He had an affair with the luckiest woman on earth. He kissed her BIG TIME and even joined her in her bedroom. He was frisky, cute, romantic and his usual HUNKAROONIE self! I was almost hysterical throughout the show!!! Had I been that incredibly fortunate woman, I'd still be in ICU recovering from over-exposure to happiness!!!
Anyway, "Gunsmoke" was a great show. Anyone who says that he and Kitty were only friends, is incorrect. Several shows alluded to their relationship. Every time Kitty got hurt or got angry with him, or he got hurt, I knew it was going to be a very good show. Lots of interplay between them.
I am a nanny to a 6 year old boy whom I have turned onto "Gunsmoke." He agrees with me that Matt represents good...he has integrity....an honest man who is gentle and caring and who uses the gun as a last resort.
I will love MattDillon/James Arness forever. To me, they are one and the same man......a good man who brightened my life as I was growing up and who continues to brighten it today.
The days of good tv are long gone. "Gunsmoke" was good tv.

I do! I watch it almost everyday! I've seen them all, but I still watch them again & again! I remember watching it with my Dad when I was little, I guess it just makes me feel a little bit closer to him.
