a week ago after a missed period, i found out i am pregnant with my second child, i'm in the very early stages (not even 5 weeks). having found out so early i'm worried about having a miscarriage, after an internal ultrasound i passed some glugy clear discharge and then i had some brownish discharge yesterday (no more since) could this have been a miscarriage? i'm still feeling slight cramps, bloated and tired in the afternoon.

sweetie no this wasn't a miscarriage.when you have a miscarriage you pass a lot of tissue and clot's, also you bleed worse than a period, good luck and congrats on the baby, i am sure you will both be fine

What are the symptoms of miscarriage?
Vaginal bleeding, sometimes accompanied by menstrual-like cramps or more severe abdominal pain, can be a sign that a miscarriage is about to occur. It’s important to remember that many women experience spotting in early pregnancy and most do not miscarry. A woman should contact her health care provider if she experiences any bleeding, even light spotting, in pregnancy. Her health care provider may do an internal examination to see if her cervix is dilated (a sign that a miscarriage is likely), and sometimes an ultrasound examination and blood tests. A woman who miscarries should try to save any tissue in a clean container and bring it to her provider.

What treatment is needed if a woman has a miscarriage?
Most women who have an early miscarriage do not need treatment. The uterus empties itself like a heavy period. However, a doctor may recommend a D&C in certain cases, such as if a woman is bleeding heavily or may have an infection, or if an ultrasound examination shows that there is tissue remaining in the uterus (which can lead to heavy bleeding).

try not to worry it was probably implantation bleeding
if you get any heavy bleeding, a lot of staining, or clots then phone your doctor
i know its scary but the internal ultrasound probably just knocked some old blood out or something if it has stopped then it is very unlikely it is a miscarriage the mild cramping could be assosciated with implantation
ive had a miscarriage and ive read a book about it and what youve described defo doesnt sound like one
good luck

If you miscarried, it would be more than "discharge." It would involve clots, cramping, blood, etc.....

Remember, if you do miscarry, it is not a bad thing. It is Natures way of stopping what wasn't healthy.

Ultrasounds can NOT cause a miscarriage.

I would be conserned you should contact your doctor. obgyn. the ultra sound could have caused it but it is best to talk to your doctor. as I don't think you should be having cramps. I had many as I had an incompetent cervix.

if you miscarry, it will show up more clotty and red or brown or both.

worry will only make it happen so chillax and move over to the baby names section.... start planning and get excited, it's okay.
