Any 1 in2 japanese cartoons, what's the deal with "AUSKA"?

My friend had a baby on Sunday, one of the names was Auska, she told me that the name is a character in japanese cartoons. Does any one have more details for me.

Asuka Langley Soryu ( it was pronounced Auska, trust me) was one of the stars of the popular Evangelion series, well thats the only Auska I know of, but I might consider naming a kid that, definitley.

hey do you know tekken 5 on ps3? well there is a new character there named asuka!! and shes a pretty good character to use for a fighting game
