Many conservatives claim to be very religious. Their religion (Christianity usually) teaches them to spread their religion to others and help them convert, not kill them.

How can you be Christian and support the death penalty? Oh yeah... you can't.

"my people". You make me sound like I'm a foreigner!!

And remember all of those disgusting, horrible, inhumane pictures from a couple years back? Thats really keeping within the rules... yeah... RIGHT.

Just because we may treat them better doesn't mean we treat them well.

You can't compare Americans to the Islamic fundamentalists.... they would obviously look like saints compared.

What I don't understand is why they even bother pretending to be Christian.

It is quite obvious the Jesus did not preach torture. In fact the opposite. Yet the NeoCons jump to be first in line to advocate inhumane ungodly treatment of anyone they are in the mode to dislike.

The cry "We don't behead people" No we don't. Beheading is considered the quick and merciful way to die. The person expires in a few seconds. Compare that to 20 minutes with 100,000 volts surging through your body.

I do not want to be a pro death sentence advocate or a anti death sentence person Jesus said the Law is for the Lawless. That's good enough for me.

First off, It isn't true that conservatives claim to be religious...Some religious people vote conservative but it also depends on what you mean by being religious. If you mean main stream christianity I may say your staement is possible but if you mean Christians you are wrong. Christians render unto Ceasar things which are Ceasars and to God what belongs to Him.

Before chanting off what Christian haters love to come up with be yourself and think it through, or are you a God hater? The Christians I know are not in to cruelty but many other religions and beliefs are like those who killed 3000 Americans on 9/11 Are they conservative? was Hitler? was Mao Tse Tung? and Paul Pot? There are lots and lots more - get your facts straight!

What ways? Prison, death penalty? Do you even know what you are talking about? We dont approve of abortion or negociating with terrorists. Dems approve of both. You know who th edeath penalty is for? Serial killers, serial rapists, terrorists-and not all of these get it. They basically have to show they have no conscious. Heck, if all a person is about is dismembering innocent people, yeah-I think the death penalty is kinda sorta appropiate. However, birth control abortion is not appropiate, it is barbaric, and it happens everyday. There are Senators and Congresspeople who approve of this. "Pro-choice"(which could be possibly the most vague term in history, has been tagged to birth control abortion to make it sound cute and cuddly. Watch this, seriously, and then look at the definition of inhumane:

Because it's the Redneck CHRISTIAN way... Remember the Crusades and the witch-burnings and the middle ages... ? Killing, torturing and pillaging in the name of a "caring, forgiving and loving God..." Heck, it ain't any different now! How about the Rev Moon, Tammy & Jimmy Bakker, Jimmy Swaggart, Jim Jones, Garesh, Ted Haggard...? HYPOCRACY.

What makes us better than our enemies when we act like them?

What ways? You have not identified the 'conservatives', nor the inhumane manners by which only conservatives punish people.

Those convicted of child rape, murder, armed robbery, treason and a host of other societal offenses and incursions of the law are given three square meals, lodging, exercise, educational opportunities, counseling and medical care, legal defense, probation, parole, house arrest and a host of other concessions that, if such crimes were committed in other nations, would not even be part of the conversation.

We as a nation extend a tremendous amount of goodwill to the very criminals who violated our society and violated our children and violated our women. Do we owe them such goodwill? No, not really, they afforded us no such goodwill. But we do so because we believe, as a nation, in the decency of mankind, in the concept of redemption and fairness (however we insufficiently define fairness).

When men or women seek to attack our society from the outside, who are not our citizens, who are not our neighbors, who are not even our allies or neutral parties, but sworn enemies who have devoted their lives to kill our women, children, husbands and wives, we are not behooved to offer these individuals the same protections a citizen or legal resident is afforded.

We must realize that our society is not on AUTO PILOT with some deflector shield at our coasts and borders. There are threats to our way of life that are real, evident and pressing. They are internal and they are external, they are obvious and covert.

We should behave like civilized people who seek to exact just punishment for the crime committed. But that is for those of us who have strayed from the community and have attacked it from within. For enemies beyond our shores, we owe no solace, no comfort, no protection and no mercy, for none is provided to us, but the assurance that given the opportunity, our lives are cheap and useless and expendable and will be sacrificed for their ends.

To these people, humanity does not apply, for to them, we are not human at all.

Yes reading Harry Potter to someone is inhumane. So is making someone stay up all night.
Conservatives didn't come up with the ways prisoners are treated
A military commission did, composed of military officers. Neither Republican or Democrat

So they can cover up their evil ways and decieve the people when they committ a crime. They dont care if the victim suffers , as long as their public image is not affected. They do the total oppisite of what Jesus Christ tried to teach. The neocons are the type of people that nailed Jesus to the Cross. Christ must have proved them wrong.

If you're wondering, the Bible commands capital punishment. Here are a few examples:

Numbers 35:16
If a man strikes someone with an iron object so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall be put to death.

Numbers 35:17
Or if anyone has a stone in his hand that could kill, and he strikes someone so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall be put to death.

Numbers 35:18
Or if anyone has a wooden object in his hand that could kill, and he hits someone so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall be put to death.

Numbers 35:31
Do not accept a ransom for the life of a murderer, who deserves to die. He must surely be put to death.

I'm Conservative and I think that the we don't do enough to end the lives of people that cannot be rehabilitated to find an early end to their lives. Studies have shown that for every person who gets executed between 8 and 28 murders are avoided.

Beside that how many babies are killed, and I do mean babies being killed, do Liberals condone?

Because they are hypocrites. They only preach the bible. They don't follow the true principals of Christs teachings of love and peace.
