I have had this flower bush in my yard for as long as I can remember. It is so beautiful and it is fascinating and beautiful because it only blooms in the winter time. When it is not flower which is when its not cold there are these dark green leaves glossy leave on it and they are i'd say medium size. But the flower are all this pretty dark red color. And they kinda look like a rose. check out this like to see it, oh and excuse my gigantic smile :-) http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=50355153&albumID=0&imageID=1021571

I didn't see your pics but Iam gathering from my experience that you are referring to the "Camellia".. They bloom from winter into early spring and come in a few different colors from white, red, pink, and yellow..It's also the state flower of Alabama. The flowers are prized in Japan, for their early blooming habit.. Here is a link with a pic for you to compare..

I agree, it sounds like camellia. Couldn't see the pics though. I was unable to log in and it acted like a spoof site. There was a message that there had been too many repeated attempts to log in, when I haven't gone on there in weeks. I don't know if there is a virus again, but myspace is definitely acting crazy .
