there does not exist a neutral ground for those two ,the bear is in the North pole ,the gorilla in tropical jungle

the bear would go crazy in the heat if he visited the gorilla ,and vica versa the gorillo would freeze his nuts of in the the gorilla is smarter and would notgo to the north pole ,and if he did he would hit the bear over the head with a pole
probably the north pole itself

gorillas are generaly very gentle animals
polar bears are mean and hunt men for food .

to save space in my answer: look at texasjewboy12's answer (the part about temperatures) if the temperatures were somehow made comfortable for both then the gorilla would win. the gorilla is much more agile than a polar bear and probably stronger. to attack, the bear needs to push off from the ground and in the short time that it is on its hind legs, make a desperate swipe. for the gorilla its as simple as throwing a punch which would be faster and use less movement than the bear. gorillas are also smarter and would have a higher chance of dodging attacks from the bear and then attack with a strong body check. so yea a gorilla

That would depend on your definition of "neutral ground". Polar bears are arctic creatures, gorillas are jungle dwellers. Big difference in temperature there. Presumably the bear would have the advantage in cold climes, the gorilla in warm ones. Moving to an average of the extremes would presumably disadvantage each equally, since the polar bear would be warmer than it's used to and the gorilla colder. If you could somehow neutralize temperature (a physical impossibility), for the sake of academic argument, I'd have to go with the bear. They weigh 3 to 4 times what a gorilla weighs. That's a considerable advantage at any temperature. Factor in the fact that the bear has claws like Bowie knives, teeth like razor blades, and the temperament of Charles Manson (they're predators, after all, they kill to live) and the poor gorilla wouldn't stand a chance. They're not natural born killers like bears. They'll defend their territories to be sure, but they don't kill to live as bears do. They're more gatherers than hunters. The smart money is going to be on the bear. As H.L. Mencken so aptly put it, "The race doesn't always go to the swift, or the battle to the strong, but that's the way to bet!"

Hmmmm... thats really hard... A gorilla is really powerful and their brains resemble more of a human brain than a polar bears, so the polar bear isn't AS smart, but the polar bear has claws and sharp teeth... but then again a gorilla has sharp teeth too....hmmm.. And im guessing that they both have never seen eachother before so neither of them would have the element of suprise. I would say a gorilla would win because they have alot of muscle on their bodies while polarbears mostly have fat to keep them warm in the cold. Those muscles have to be used for something right?

Polar Bear

Tough call. A gorilla has the agility, the muscle, and the raw power. Except they're more peaceful creatures than you realize. The bear is unpredictable, more mass, more brute strength throwing in those paws and claws and jaws. Tough call, really. It'd either be a tie, or shade it toward the bear. If it's a grizzly, forget it. If it's a Brown bear the gorilla stands a chance. Then again what size gorilla, too.

A polar bear can weight up to 1750 lbs. A gorilla can weigh up to 500 lbs. I'm going to go with the bear.

A polar bear. Though gorrilas look tough, they are actually quite gentle whilst polar bears have to be killers to survive.

The bear. The gorilla, not ever having seen a bear before, would just stand there wondering "what the heck is that?"
