It's very sad but it's true...Tobacco is legal to make money. Think of how many people smoke in the world. If all of a sudden the government made tobacco illegal the money our government and society is making would drop WAY down and we would be in deep trouble. Although money IS important in a healthy and prosperous country the government should be more concerned about their peoples health and safety. Alcohol is legal because alcohol doesn't necessarily kill it's the people's actions that kill. Not to drink and drive is a statement emphasized very much to warn careless drinkers. I'm very sorry about your uncle. And you know what?! I agree that tobacco and alcohol shouldn't be legal..however that would just bring our profit down. It's very complicated there's a positive and a negative to everything. The positive of making tobacco and alcohol illegal would be less lives lost and the negative is we would lose A LOT of money. Hope that helps! Good luck! :)

Alcohol and tobacco is legal because people don't see these as an addiction but a bad habit.
Unfortunately many families hurt because of alcoholic parents.Abuse and going without the main necessities in life as food.Tobacco hurts children's lungs even an infant can be sick from the smoke. As far as other drugs you have mentioned they too have their downfalls. So it is better to stay away from it all.I'm sorry to hear about your uncle.

alcohol and tobacco are legal because this is satan's world, and those two substances cause a tremendous amount of damage...damage that spreads through entire families...people don't sit around the bonfire, smoke a joint, and beat each other up....add alcohol to that little party, some body's gonna get pissed off about something...

my theory is that alcohol and tobacco take a long, long time to kill yourself with....and you take a lot of people down with you...and satan laughs at us, so desperate to incarcerate somebody for a joint...

peace, tammy

What's wrong with one glass of wine? It's about moderation versus abuse.
