I got the depo shot once, and I spotted for a couple of weeks around the time my normal period was due. I doctor said it was normal because it was my first time taking the shot (even though I had been on the pill for a while), and my hormones weren't sorted out yet. After I came off the shot I bled so heavy it scared me, but the doctor said that was normal too, because my hormones were stabalizing, and just put me back on the pill.
I will never take the depo shot again!!

I was on Depo for about 4 years. During the first 2 years I gained 60 pounds even though I didn't change my eating and I still went to the gym. The weight gain was the main reason I eventually quit taking it. Plus I was ready for a baby. I stopped having periods after a few months and never had another one the whole time I was on it. It took 18 months for me to get pregnant after I stopped taking it.

Yes the depo shot can change your period totally. I used to take it and would go 3 months without one but when the shot was wearing off i would start bleeding profusely. You never know what is going to happen with it. Check with your Dr.

Sometimes. Often a woman on hormonal birth control will experience an unusual period the first few times around. If the blood flow is severe or if you start to feel weak/dizzy, consult your doctor. If not, this may just be your body trying to normalize after the hormone.

yes you will spot or bleed on and off for the remander of the shot once you get your second shot your period will stop completely. So if you can wait it out it will pay off in the long run.
