My bag smells like cigarettes, I tried washing it and airing it out, but it still smells.

Just like inside the freezer at home . . . Try baking soda 'till it absorbs the odor!

Try washing it again with a good detergent and letting it dry hanging where it can sort of turn with the wind with the flap open out in the sun.
